bushing question not what you expect though
i was watching tv the other day and i saw sumone using solid metal with holes drill though as bushing. what is the pros and cons of this? it seems like it would outlast and rubber or poly you could buy? please i'm think it might be cheaper too and handle alot better
Why would you want to do that?? You need some sort of give. If you dont have any give at all your gonna break other ****. Besides that its gonna vibrate and be very uncomfortable. Its stupid and it wont benefit you performance wise at all.
i dunno it was jsut sumthing i saw on tv and wanted to know if it would be good in anyway other then last longer
I would assume you are discribing solid motor mounts which are mainly used on domestic race cars. dont think id want that on my civic lol unless it was a full blown race car. yes you get all the torque back you loose from the motor shifting under a heavy load but the car would vibrate its *** off from the motor shaking
there are many companies out there that make different duromters of bushing stiffness.
a solid metal motor mount would be very rough for any kind of daily driving, i had a set of hasports they were the ones next to the race mounts and they vibrated alot i ended up replacing the hasports for AZ race bc they have a medium durometer i believe its 70a... it would just be too rough on you are your motor
