I've got a tight budget for this car, and can't afford to spend $500 on a new catback. Should I try and find a used for cheap, or just go to a local muffler shop and have them weld me one up? Is there honestly going to be any difference if I use a good-quality muffler?

 

Depends what you want, i've done both and both worked great.

What are you looking for out of the exhaust?

 

2.25-2.5" diameter, with a nice, reserved tone that isn't raspy at all.

 

Muffler shops use Crush-bends, so it will kill your flow. But, do what ur budget allows...
