CRX CV joint
Im having trouble removing the lug nut from my axle. im trying to use a breaker bar and the thing just isnt turning. My repair manual says something like there might be a pin or something holding ion the nut. any suggestions?
There's a notch. But you should be using air tools. Breaker bars tend to snap when they have been on for a while, with or without the dimple in there. I know from experience. Just get someone with air tools to help you out. Electric impacts work too.
so. i gave up on doing it myself because i think i'll mess it up, so does anyone know about how much it would cost to change a p/s axlw if i brought it to a garage?
Its easy man , you do need a good air impact gun though.
As for the notch , you'll see on one side of the nut it has a "dent" tapped into it sinking back into the slot in the threads. just use a small punch or standard screw driver to tap it back out of the groove. Than you take the lower strut bolt out as well as the nut off the lower arm bushing (brain fart on actual bushing name) then put a jack under it and slowly jack it up , while taping the side of the arm with a mallet , it will just fall out when you jack it up to just the right spot.
Get a Haynes manual , there like Bibles around here
