Default Help with traction bar in CRX with BIG header.

Ok I have a street CRX with "traction bars" and I have a DTR street sweeper header the big problem is my one radius rod is in the way big time can someone maybe give my some ideas on how to re-do the design so I can fit the header?

Here's some pics of the bars and header. TIA Rob

Where is it hitting exactly?

Does the piece need to be moved down more or over... Like does the header NEED to sit above or beside the traction bar piece?

If it needs to be moved down, you will have to build a new bar that sits lower in the front. Looks like you used a piece of angle to bolt it to where the factory holes are.

See if perhaps you could get some longer bolts, and take a piece of 1" rod with a hold in the middle to make it mount lower.. I would also add some plates that go up to the tow hooks so it dosent pull the bar back with the spacers (if it works.. Weld the spacers to the angle pieces)

Sorry if its hard to understand.. Kinda trying to describe what i see in my head.

If the header needs to sit next to the traction bar, have a new radius rod made with a a bend in it so it clears the header. If you make it out of the right material, it wont weaken it at all.
GREAT looking header by the way! I really like that!

EDIT: I realized that its nott he tubing thats in the way, but the heim joint and attachment point. Therefore, my idea wouldnt work, and I am not sure what you can do.

is it hitting the radius rod or near the heim joint?

you prolly gotta move the heim joint mount point over by a few inches, then shorten the radius rod to make it work...

but thats playing with suspension geometry u might wanna contact someone who knows what ill effects that might do to the suspension..

It's the hiem joint and radius rod in the way the only thing I can come up with is the lower the mounting loctaion. Rob

make up some spacers to lower the bar rob. or you could have a new bar made that moves the whole bar further forward. mine sits directly in line with the tow hook locations on my crx.

Redesign the traction bar setup and use the rear crossmember for mounting. That's what I did on my old straight line car that had the same problem.
