i have a 1996 JDM ITR.

yesterday i got some "mugen" 4-1 replica extractors installed, but the bottom of the header is sitting toooo close to the brace under the car...
its about 2-4mm apart, on the way home from the workshop. i could hear the two hitting each other...

is there any way i can fix this problem? i want both the header and brace to stay...

 

Take off the Cusco lower tie bar, or take your header to an exhaust shop and hack it up. I don't see any other way around it. One's gotta go.

 

wrap the header and bar in that thermo wrap stuff?

 

Get a dremel and enlarge the bolt holes in the brace so that you can position the bar lower. You only need to move it down another 4-5mm. It worked fine for me.

 

so make the bolt holes bigger so the bar can be positioned lower?
