Default 95 Auto LS - terrible acceleration problems!!

I posted a thread a few months ago about my g/f's 95 LS auto that was having shitty idle problems. I thought I had the problem all figured out when I cleaned the IACV and adjusted down the FITV. It seemed to cure the problem.

Now the car is having a terrible time accelerating anywhere. from 1-3.5krpm's the car falls flat on it's face and absolutely refuses to move. above 4k rpm's or so it seems to move ok. On top of all that the idle issues have come back where it idles high or irradically. I don't know if this is of any importance but I was in park w/ the a/c on and turned the A/C off. The RPM's jumped up 500 or so when I TURNED IT OFF? Here is what I have done so far.

1. Cleaned and re-set IACV.
2. Adjusted FITV.
3. Bleed cooling system.
4. adjusted throttle cable
5. Installed new cap, rotor, plugs and wires.

I'm running out of ideas here. I am going to put an 02 sensor on this car next week. I am really running out of ideas here. I am thinking about putting a new cat on, but I'm rather reluctant to because I have smelled the rotten egg odor yet and I'm not sure if it's clogged yet.

PLEASE ANY HELP!

No ****. I understand it's an auto. I'm not trying to make my g/f's car a F&F racer which is probably true for you. I need some help solving a driveablity problem. Please post your smartass responses elsewhere.

Well since its a 95, its probably an OBDII, which means that if the cat is clogged, the second O2 sensor would probably pick it up.

95 is still OBD1!!! 96 is the first year for OBD2. But anyway, Have you checked the spark the distributor is giving? When was the last time you changed the cap, rotor, spark plugs and plug wires?

These were changed about a month ago. How do I check the spark out of the distributor?

Since it's an auto, is there still a rubber plug in the bell housing to check the timing w/ a timing light?

Any way to check the cat to see if it's clogged?

man i hate f&f!! it sounds like an injector problem to me, my comment on being auto wasnt to offend you, but to remind you that theres a big acceleration difference between auto and standard, and you may be used to standard.. so dont get butt hurt k!!

I'm gonna say its fuel related, my 95 civic ex did the same thing from time to time. i ended up tracing it to a clogged fuel filter, but replace the fuel filter, and if that doenst solve the problem, change the injectors.
