What's wrong with my friend's car?
My friend has a '93 Integra LS and every time after he drives it and then turns it off, it won't start again. The engine cranks over but doesn't start. The CEL will come on and stay on for a few minutes and the car won't start but after the light goes off, the car will start again. Does anyone know what could be causing this?
The light doesn't stay on long enough. I just thought that maybe someone here has had a similar experience or may know what could be wrong just by the symptoms. I hear that there are really smart honda guys here. Just thought I'd give it a shot.
try checking the code anyway, it'll probably be stored in the ecu. Nobody can help you with that little amount of info, especially with out a code.

jdm_bones...must mean ********. People who get pissed off when someone asks a question as simple as this does not belong on any forum anywhere because all they will do is put people down to feel better about themselves. Whether you like it or not it probably happens hundreds of times a day that someone will ask a question on a forum that has been covered numerous times already. You have two choices then: 1) Either be helpful to someone who is asking for help, or 2) just don't reply. I am being helpful by posting this here for a friend. You can flame me on the forum but I'll flame you on the streets or track with the flames that shoot out of my STi's exhaust, BIATCH!!! I really hate dickholes like you. BTW, I can read and spell quite well, as for you, your last sentence really shows how good you are in grammar. "Please read, it will shows you how to read your CEL's..once you figured what cel your friend has come and share your findings!" Hahahahahahahahaha...I'M RICK JAMES, BIATCH!!!
check the main fuel relay...under the dash on the drivers side simple install and removal. This sounds similar to a problem i had like 6 months ago. Does it ever make a wierd clicking that the owner thinks is unusual from under the drivers side dash when he tries to turn it over? lemme know.
Thanks billabongrob. I'll check with him about the noise when I see him again. Will a bad main fuel relay cause the car not to start if it's too hot? Where is the ecu located anyways? I thought it might be where it is on the DC2's but some weird looking thing is there. Don't tell me that's the ecu. I was trying to read the blinking light but couldn't. I used to have a DC2 Type R so I know how to jump and read the codes on the DC2's but I believe the 2gen has a blinking light on the ecu instead so I was at a lost. Anyways, thanks again to all the helpful people here.
My 92 DA flashes the CEL when the jumper is jumped.
My buddies 90 DA flashes at the ECU with a little red light.
So, depends on which year the DA is.
Another thing, when you go to start the car, the CEL will come on and then go off when the fuel system pressurizes. If the Main Fuel Relay doesn't work, the fuel system does pressurize, and the CEL will stay on.
You could borrow a friends MFR and see if the problem stops, then buy your own.
You can also solder (sp?) the broken connections on the MFR. I have seen many guys waste alot of money trying to fix the same situation you are in, but they usually end up buying a new MFR and the problem is gone.

I had a similar problem with my 93 Nissan Maxima 10 yrs. ago. It turned out that it was some sort of electrical problem that the dealership and 3 other places could not pinpoint the actual problem. All they could tell me was that it was some sort of "electrical problem" or a short in the system.
