Revs between shifts
Some time back I saw a thread addressing high revs between shifting on a manual. When you put in the cluth it kicks up the RPM's even if you don't push on the accelerator. Could we drudge this topic up again? Search did me no good. I looking for an explanation for it.
hard to explain but i know what your talking about.... like when your running it hard and you start to take the foot off the gas and then cluth in a nanosecond apart. um its like the engine has be under strain and then all of a sudden its no longer there and it revs up a little from the loss????? where are the smarter people who can put this into words. im goin to bed
my car does the same thing,
when i shift at lower rpms 2500 - 3500 , then they jump about 300 - 500 rpms
but when i shift at about 5000 rpms they dont jump at all, or its very minimal.
i have no clue what is doing it

If I remember right they did this to avoid damaging the syncros in the transmission from people letting the RPM's drop too much between shifts so when they let the clutch back out the RPM's would just real high.
I thought I'd read that they did this to try and stabablize the RPM's so it wasn't so dramatic??

omg, you'er a ricer. double clutching is exactly that, you doublt clutch. and there is no need to double clutch in our cars, unless your synchros are blown.

Could be that went you changed your clutch they didnt center it right I had the same problem. A lil different and everytime by pressure plate got hot it felt like my clutch was slippin so check that out or u jus might need a new clutch period.
