here is one of my first projects made with the new welder of mine. From my first weld with it and now, it is a night and day diff how much I have improved. I am making new IC pipe next week, pics of that when complete.
sched 40 stainless steel, all tig welded. It has been sitting around and is very dirty, I should have cleaned it up.

Not bad....it does look like you need some practice on the runners but you are making progress. Tig welding is very difficult. I am the head welder at Slowmotion Motorsports and I just started there 3 weeks ago making manifolds for them and let me tell you, as you know, its not easy. Keep up the good work, look for pics of my first few manifolds on this forum...

I think the only way to make a honda manifold creative nowadays is to make a 3d version of a shoots and ladders game board...

thanks guys. this was my FIRST manifold ever. wanted to start off kinda easy and origonal. I will do one more of these with a slight altercation to it and then try a top mount.
People are too conservative with the props in this place. I think that is ******* outstanding for your first manifold considering you went straight to ramhorn. Make ten more and your **** will be right up there damn near with the best of them.
TIG welding has a reputation for being the most difficult welding process for a reason. I have been TIG'n for about 1.5 years and I still have a ton of room for improvement. I tend to take for granted at the same time though. I welded some razor blades for my friend who is a MIG welder professionally, he was all OOOOOHHH AHHHHH CRAZY, even showed his boss. As a result he came over and I gave him a crash course....not too good.
My point is, those of us who TIG sometimes get complacent, due to the amount of high quality fab we see on this board alone. TIG'n a manifold isn't easy, even when it comes out like a pile of ****! As for the effort I see in this thread.....GOOD JOB BRO, I'd put it on one of my project cars...what the hell!
EDIT: To the OP, did you do a root pass then a fill pass? With the schedule 40 stuff, it helps to prevent undercutting and with overall penetration. Schedule 10 you can get away with just one pass in my experience, but 40 I double every time. In addition, by doing a root pass it puts less heat in so I can get a solid weld on everything. The strength of everything solidly welded with a root pass, seems to warp (i.e. move out of shape) less than doing one high amp pass.

i didnt do a root pass, i will have more time next time to do it. That also was my first real tig welding session on THAT manifold. I have probably a few hours, UNDER 10 in my experience. You can see my WG welds and how much better they are now.
I am making another next week, stay tuned.
thanks i appreciate it. It isnt a FULL RACE manifold so i dont get alot of love, i am trying though i can take the haters in here that are up corporate a$$, etc..

i just sold the one above. I ordered more material today to make my next one with a little different add to it, stay tuned. Live, learn, progress
Good work. Looks good. Little undercutting, but not bad at all.
TIG isn't easy and like RC000E was saying, a lot of people take it for granted. Its been years since I've had the chance to TIG weld, so I'm not one to critique you.
Keep it up.
