Default Mad T-Belt issues! Ideas needed

So I finally got around to changing my belt and doing the man. install. I put the belt on and sealed everthing back up. I also took the balancer belt off as well. So today driving home I hear a snap and the batt. light comes on. I swith over my VAFC and only get a reading of 11.4 off the battery. Okay, so the alternator belt snapped. I get home and not only did the alt. belt snap too, but so did the PS, not that I couldnt feel it on the final approach. Heres the pics
Basically the BS pulley ground through the lower cover..

I have a BS elim kit for my other block so threw that spacer on for now.

Also when all pulleys are on, this is as far as I can get the crank pulley to seat. Does this 1/8 gonna be a prob??

Luckily the cams didnt appear to be off any, perhaps a tooth at worst. WTF did I do wrong? I need some good trouble shooting cause Im supposed to drive to cali on sun. I have to be there by wed. no q's asked. Thx

oh. just for refence, the belt you looking at is 1 day old. I did my change yesterday. This is the outcome

WTF!!!! it hurts to see something like that, but at least your motor didn't blow on you. that extra 1/8" was probably enough to throw the belt alignment off and cause your alternator belt to snap on you. and maybe that extra 1/8" was causing your alternator belt to put stress on your pulley, and then your pully wiggled its way off the crank.

yeah but the crank pulley should be completely flush with the end right? Ive got all pulleys as close to the oil pump and still theres that lil bit of over hang.

no, the crank pulley is never flush with the crank, 1/8 is perfect.

check your water pump and make sure it spins freely. most of the time this type of failure is due to siezed water pump
