F22b2 & F22b1.... what is the difference?
first off i'd like to say i tried searching.... anyway, what is the difference in an F22b2 and an F22b1 engine?.... also, what do those mean..... any specific thing or just a code?.. sorry if it's stupid.. but sometimes you just got to ask...
The F22B1 came in the 94-97 Accord EX. It's a 2.2L SOHC VTEC with about 147tq and 145hp.
The F22B2 came in the 94-97 Accord LX & DX. It's a 2.2L SOHC non-VTEC with, I think, 130hp and I don't know the tq.

couldnt have asked for a better explanation..... i have a F22b2 and i now feel really depressed about that now... lol..... but whatever.... got any suggestions first mods i should make on my '95 LX (engine mods)?.... or just the norm ... intake, header, and exhaust...
np
If you want an intake and don't have to worry about getting CARB legal parts, then you could just get a eBay intake and put a K&N filter on it. For a header, buy a F22B1 (EX) header, it'll perform just as well as say a DC Sports. For exhaust, I would suggest something quite, like a APEXi WorldSportII or something. But those parts are only going to give you minimal gains.
You can also do head swap to the H23 or H22 heads. You could do a F22B1 head swap but it's probably not worth it unless you really want to stay SOHC. Just run a search or go to the Prelude forum and look at the FAQ sticky, then find the hybrid section and you'll find some good info on the DOHC swap onto F blocks.
You could also go turbo if youd like.

You could go for I/H/E but those are really just noise mods IMO. The F22B2 doesn't do so well on those mods (probably 15-20 whp if your lucky). I would invest that money in suspension mods or start saving for a H22 or turbo kit.

probably not worth it on a stock motor

have been considering saving or H22 from japan.... trustworthy or will i get a piece of crap.... cause i mean... it's almost too good to be true.... H22,5spd tranny, ECU, .... i think those are the main things in the package but anyway.... it is only like $1500 for all that
1500 would be a good deal for an entire swap. You are always taking a chance buying a used engine but any repuatble importer will give at least a start-up guarantee.
