check engine light came on .......seriously confused
so i wake up and leave just like i do every morning and proceed to drive to work ....on the way there i decide to give the car a little gas to get past this other car and HOLY CHRIST the thing starts bucking worse than a bronco rider having an epiletic seisure (around 5500-6500 rpm) so i let off and the check engine light comes on this is the first ive ever seen this so i drive all the way to work get here and run the code !.....!!!!!!!!!. i say its 9 or 19 but i could be wrong the only thing is 19 is for an automatic valve lock up or something on obd1 cars i believe the thing is i have a B16 5 speed with a PO6 ecu chipped to P28 standards using CHROME nothing major. so my question to you all is am i crazy or could i have a serious problem. 3 things to take into consideration.
1. i didnt let the cart warm up this morning
2. the oil is not the best i could have used (mobil 5000)
3. it nearing an oil change.
appreciate all the feed back

You're a tool. Check your ******* codes and tell us what it is.
Uhh... I was driving and the car stuttered. That's all your ******* rambling amounted to. If you want some help, get some details.
Is it a distributor code? When was your last tune-up? Low oil?

The check engine light is never anything major. The onboard diagnostics has to do with emissions and crap that has to do with gas mileage.

But it is helpful sometimes in diagnosing other things like when there is a miss, it will tell you which cylinder is missing. Or you could just let it run and touch the exhaust runners to see which one isn't hot.
ahh.. leave him alone, I gave him a hard enough time.
Seriously, you need to recheck your codes. Does it repeatedly flash 9 times, or is it throwing more than one code?
If it's is the CYP sensor, it could be a sign of your distributor starting to take a crap.

t0p_sh0tta i do respect the higher post members cause they usually have more credibilty ...... its 9 on the ecu code so it sound like it may be time for a new ditributor
thanks again
thanks again
The combination of your confusion and the symptoms points toward the distributor. If the original blink pattern had a single blink and then a lengthy pause followed by nine rapid blinks, that's two different codes: and O2 sensor and a distributor CYP or similar.
Swap dizzies with a friend and see if it goes away. Have you cleared it yet? Have you driven it since?

Bucking can either be caused by misfire/bad ignition or maybe something big like your timing belt skipping a whole bunch but if that were to happen it'd be like the death of your valve train after those couple seconds. If your driving auto tranny maybe it has something to do with it not being able to shift.
