HELP!!! brake lights wont go off
Does anyone know why my brake lights will not go off even when the car is turned off? I came outside today and my batt. was dead due to my brake lights staying on even after I turned the car on. Whats bad is that it stays on while I am driving so people think Im braking when Im not. Any suggestions would be greatly welcomed. I think it may just be that I need to change my rear drum brakes on my 88 crx dx.
ya check the sensor at the brake pedal. on mine the plastic thing broke off so there was just a hole where the sensor button normally would be pushed in.
It's most likely the little plastic stopper that goes into the brake pedal arm that the switch connects with.Find any little pieces on your carpet? most likely-it busted up-it's old.
I think yall are right I did see a plastic piece that was broken off on the carpet could I get the piece from honda? For now im just discoonecting the batt. so that it wont drain it.
would you happen to know if the dealership would have that piece or would I have to get it from a junk yard, or can I get it from pep boys or auto zone?
Thanks
Thanks
It's $3 at the dealership and usually in stock because its a common problem.
You could make all sorts of things work from Autozone but I doubt they have the exact part. People have used generic rubber stoppers/plugs or a regular bolt/nut.

Dude-you can't get it from the junk yard-you can't get them out.
The good news is you can still get/order them from your local Honda Dealership.
