Default Pinging/Detonation?

My car developed what I think is a pinging sound. I have heard detonation before, but this sounds a little different to me. It is more of a fluttering sound. Recently the timing was adjusted and it is dead on. I did notice that the fuel filter is leaking a little, but other than that I can't think of anything else out of the ordinary. The motor is a 95 integra LS and it is stock. I tried putting in premium and it still made the sound. What are some things to check for? Figures I get all my turbo stuff together and this happens... Help me out Honda-tech.

i just changed my t-belt and it was stretched... the previous owner adjusted the timing to compensate for the stretched belt and as a result the timing was off when i put on the new belt... i would check the timing again with a timing light

use the force to check timing. lol jk jk

for pinging, could be valve timing - try putting 91 octane in - could be rods or bearing preparing to blow... good luck

Haha id use the force for other things than timing. I used premium fuel and it still did it. I really hope you are wrong, but I did just get this longblock and it was sitting for a long time before I got it. It does it under load in second gear and first. More so when it is cold. It doesnt do it when im in fifth on the parkway and I floor it. What are some symptoms of rods and bearing about to blow? You have me really scared now.

Also its not a knocking sound. It is definetly a fluterry pinging sound. Could that still be bad bearings or rods?

Have u always been using 91 octane? Sometimes puttin regular unleaded back in it could help it out. Either that or u'r valves or are hitting just a guess.
