Just move your hips to the beat of the music, unless you're talking about country, then it's a bit more complicated.

A 2-step pulls a ton of timing and gives you a secondary rev limiter and yanks out a ton of timing so you can have consistent launches and spool a turbo out of the hole.

actually antilag is where the timming is pulled to spool the turbo. a straight up 2 step is a secondary rev limiter triggered by a 12 volt source, transbrake, linelock, or on most honda cases like mine, the ebrake. what it does is, fires everyother cylinder or 2 at a time instead of all 4 to hold the engine at a certain predetermined rpm. you can get boost out of it but not as much as you would off of anti lag. i 2 step at 8200 and get about 7 psi. when you launch, drop the ebrake, cutting the 12volts off to the 2 step, putting it onto the primary rev limiter. it is a great thing to help you stage and launch the car. here it is on my car, http://videos.streetfire.net/v...7.htm

as far as how to do it, you either need an ems with some sort of launch control, or an add on ignition box with a rev limiter input. some hate it but my msd 6al has been working fine.

thanks maeng.

whenever i post that vid i must follow with the disclaimer. The WideBand Died Driving it to the lane In the First Round. It was 11.0 on the dyno so i know it is safe. read the plugs after every pass. i know 14.6 will melt a motor at 27 psi.

this may be a dumb question, but is the 2step usually set at a lower rpm than the primary limiter, right? also, i may be way off, but i thought the purpose of a 2 step is to keep traction in the lower gears, but after reading your post, it sounds like you use it to make boost at the line? sorry to steal the thread.

i am not using mine to make boost. it is a pleasent byproduct. i am running a b16 and need wheel speed to get the car moving. on that pass i cut a 1.68 short time. i just use it because i dont want to have to think where the gas pedal is on the launch.

and yes the launch limiiter is lower than the top limiter.

can you give us some pointers on how to set it at the recommended rpm. why did you pick 8900 rpm? just wondering.

my launch should be at 8200, thats what my module is set at, my shift rpm is 9400, top rev limit is 9800. when we were on the dyno, my car was still making power at 9800. remember it is a b16.

getting the launch rpm took some time and phenageling with tire pressures. first pass was like 7200 with 9 psi. spun 2.2, then 7200 at 7.5 psi. bog 2.0. then we broke my module but luckilly it broke at 8000. then 8000 at 8 psi spun a little but went 1.85. then at atco, on that pass, 8200 with 7.25 got some vehile speed up but was spinning, but went 1.68. now i will mess with the suspension.

awsome clip.
i have a digital 6 box that i was gonna hook up but i couldn't figure where to hook the 2-step to. i was gonna hook it to a button on the steering wheel but the E brake sound easier. so how exactly are you launching? sounds like a lot of **** to do, let out clutch, drop e brake and step on gas.

well here is the beauty of the 2 step. your foot is already on the floor. the hardest thing i have found so far is preloading. i think i have got it, but i am still affraid of loosing the preload and lunching the final drive.

since the ebrake switch is a ground, there are only 2 wires out of the step module, 12v and ground. usually you would ground the 2 step and put 12volts to it via a line lock, or tranny brake. just wire it in reverse. run a fused 12v to the 2 step, and the other side goes to the ebrake switch. when it is up, completing the circuit, arming the 2 step. it is a little tricky droping the handle and releasing the clutch, but with a little practice, it isnt that bad. h.t.h.
