help changing a steering column
i have searched for a tutorial to change a steering column in a 98 5speed exbut can not find anything.Just trying to get pointed in the right direction has anyone done it and is it hard? thanks
its simple.
take off the covers around your ignition switch, probably like 3 or 4 screws to take them out.
then remove your ignition switch, there are 2 screws on the end of the white cap on the left side, then it just pops out.
un-plug the cable reel (flat black line going into your steering wheel) out from the under-dash fuse box.
after that, remove the plastic black cover over the steering colum shaft, theres a metal ring that holds it on.
continue by removing the two nuts that support the colum that is bolted to a bracket about 1/3rd way down the colum.
there is one more 10mm bolt at the very bottom of the shaft.
then take it out, and put the other one back in....
its a cakewalk
