I tried searching this out but I guess my question may be too specific. I have the opportunity to pick up a first gen B16A block. I already have a B16A head (OBD1 i'm told, still have to verify) and would like to use them together in my 94 civic hatch. So my question is are there any differences in the block/rotating assembly that will give me any problems or concerns (smog wise or anything else worth mentioning)? Is there anything I would need to do or change to the block to make it OBD1? Or are they all the same and I won't have any issues? I'll be using a P28 ECU if that makes a difference. Thanks in advance guys!!
Will not pass smog, not even a chance.
Regarding the OBD1 head you have, a quick way to verify would be to look at the year that is stamped on the front of it.

cool thanks for the tip, i'll check the year later. regarding it not passing smog, i know complete first gens won't pass, but what's different? i always thought it was in the head. is the compression ratio different enough to make it fail?

word, and that's where it get's tricky, first gen block with 2nd gen head and obd1 setup. i'm not concerned with the visual part (yet) just the emissions part.
