There aren't any differences that I can think of. I have a '94 that was very well kept by previous owners and the interior still looks brand new.

I believe that the interior was changed to a solid black in '96. The '95 and earlier are black below sholder height, grey above sholder height. Other than that they're the same, except for the locks/mirrors mentioned before.

Yes, the seats have matching fabric for the 'spine' in the center instead of being color matched to the exterior color of the car... i.e. a red car would have a red spine in the seat and a blue car would have a blue spine. In '96/97, the seats are all monotone.

i changed mine out to 93 but used my 95's glove box, much more sturdy, just needed to swap out the hinge on the dash.

The doors are all black in the 96-97 sol's. So, if you get the JDM maplights, and you have a 96 or 97, make sure you get the black button, not the gray button. The bezel trim around the guages is dark gray on the 97 and 97's; where the 93-95 is black. The e-brake button on the 96-97 is chrome, the older ones had a black button.

They eliminated the color stripe on the seat, the stripe is the same color as the seat. In the 93-95 models you could get a colored strip on the Si and VTEC models, but not the S models. If you had a blue car, it would be a blue stripe, a red car would be red, a black car would be red, but I'm not sure what the green cars would have.

The floor mats are different. The older ones had the "Splash" style mats, where the ones that came with my 96 just have a horizontal logo.

The 96-97 also have the trunk and gas door release, and the head lights on reminder.

This is a VERY good link to find all of the specs on just about every model of del Sols - It's a PDF document:

Yeah Am', You have to def get a 97, I know you want black and maybe well find one with mint paint, black on black. You know I wont 'lead you astray'.
