Default JDM ecu different from usa?

I currently have a B16 in my civic, and someone said i should get a p30 ecu and a gadge cluster instead of using a vtec controller and a tach. So my question is looking up p30 ecus ive noticed alot of "JDM" ecus, is there any difference with that ecu and the usa version? would it work with a b16 without problems? and would it pass bar if it was a jdm ecu, any info helps thanks a bunch.

It would not pass BAR with a JDM ECU. The JDM ECUs are physically smaller and have a speedn governor. Just get a USDM P30.
