Default Speedometer problems

Welp, if I didn't have bad luck with this rex. I'd have none at all. Have a 88 CRX si with 309k that was just about where I wanted it.

Just finished replacing the dizzy cap, rotor, spark plugs, wires, head gasket, several other gaskets throughout the engine... and i think that's about it. Had a massive coolant leak and (being in a hurry to get to the bar to celebrate the completion of this job) forgot to put some in. Car was over heating, managed to get some coolant but after I left the gas station the speedo wouldn't work. The tach, gas guage and temp guage all work fine but speedometer and odometer (and tripometer) don't work.

Worked fine on the way there. Car was running perfect. Tomorrow i'll be going through fuses and checking the cable/connections. Anything else I should be looking for?

yerp. check the head in the back of the cluster and make sure it didnt pop out . listen for a squeaking noise from back there. also check to see if you might of accidentally knocked the speedo cable out of the gear.

cable seemed to be all the way in the transaxle. Took it out and reset it back in there anyway. Then did the same for the cable at the gauges. Unplugged the negative, let it sit, reconnected and it's working again.

Thanks to all the advice.
