Default how can i get power to starter??(battery in trunk)

im working on a obd-1 conversion (z6 in a dx crx) well im thinkin(thanks to help from others) it's the starter cuz the car wont crank....well the battery is in the trunk and im only getting 9.7 volts to the starter. i hooked up a "booster pack" to the starter and the motor tried to crank (but i dont think a booster is strong enough) so whats the best way to put power to the starter?? should i just hook up jumper cables to another batt. and then power to the starter?? or would that not work? (is a starter ac or dc...i know that alt. is ac so id assume the same about starter) please share if you have a answer (and it wont damage anything or kill me) thanks

What size wire are you using between the battery and starter?

the jumper cable method will work. but if you are sure its the starter, maybe the starter itself is just dead and you need to replace it? could also be a fucked up solenoid, im not an electrition lol wiring is gay

How did you go about relocating your battery?

I have mine in the trunk also, I had one brand new optima red top die on me w/ 0 mileage, but then replaced it & everything is fine now.
