installed some new brake calipers - not stopping well...
what are some ideas why... My ideas are that there's still air in the line, possible kinks in the lines and stuff on the pads (when I got the calipers brake fluid had leaked everywhere and gotten on everything including the pads...)... any other ideas? I've done brakes tons of times before and this is the first time I've had issues
gixxer 1000 6-pot brakes and a bigger MC. lever doesn't feel completely firm like it should...
I gave up since I'm still mega tired and have tomorrow to work on it

+1.
Aldo make sure you get all the air out of the lines and use some brake cleaner to clean everything up nice.

the reservoir was half full....
I'm kinda bummed but the deal for the brakes was still good. I'll see if the lines have air in them and then I guess I'll goto the shop. Guess this is a good way to keep me off the bike until I get the new CCT's in

It'll always be one thing after another - brake lines, and then the CCTs, and then the fork springs, and then the RR, and then ...
Stoppies, huh? But how's that gonna make you go faster??

I already have a red superhawk. don't need to go any faster. do need to order my racetech stuff and call the guy about the rear shock - see if he can rebuild it. my RR is safe. it's a gixxer 750 one. Imagine that a suzuki part being better then a honda
argh I'm so ******* frustrated right now... I spent the last couple hours taking things apart and rebleeding them and it still doesn't feel solid. I'm out of ideas and have wasted about $20 worth of brake fluid already... anyone near blacksburg, va good with brakes and wanna help?
does anyone have any tricks for bleeding brand new systems? I've ran my brakes dry before when bleeding but this is diff... My old bike I even rebuilt the caliper and got it working fine. this just doesn't seem to want to be nice
one issue that I'm having is I had to seperate the pads some to fit them on which means I have to get the pads seated right with respect to the rotors.... I'm not sure if I'm doing it right

Your going to have to let the air come out of the lines and that takes time.
Assuming you have some pressure pull the lever firm then use something like a ziptie to hold it firm for a few hours. I bet when you come back a big bubble comes out when you bleed them.
You can also tap the lines to try and loosen up any bubbles that are stuck.
