Default Bigger width on stock AP2 wheels

Since it'll be the second time replacing my rear RE050s after 23k miles, I was looking into the area of putting 225s in the front and 255s in the rear. For those who ran this setup, have any of you had fender or fenderwell clearance problems?

Thanks in advance.

None on my AP2. Theres quite a few people running this size on OEMs, I wouldn't run anything smaller.

What's the widest tread width you've seen on stock wheels?

Hey I was just on the s2ki forum and saw that people prefer to run 245 front and 275 rears for autocross on the AP2. Anyone heard about that? Will that setup even fit???

Of course it does. With the right wheels.

People (mostly SCCA Stock class autoXers) have run as wide as 245 width R-Compounds on the front 6.5" wide wheels and 275 width R-compounds on the rear 7.5" wide wheels. The 275/45/16s or 265/45/16s on the rear are apparently not that hard to get on. But your tire guy is going to hate you for making him mount the 245/45/16s on the skinny stock front wheels.

Andrew

EDIT: Oh wait, you are talking about the newer S2000s with the wider 17" wheels, right? Then you should not have any problems with mounting up to a 245 width up front, and a 255-275 width in the rear.

Interesting, are the people running these extreme widths experiencing alot of rub? The tires are going to see the street 95% of the time.

It's nice to know you can go that wide on this car. I wonder if I could push this to 235 f 265 r without rubbing.

On stock front fenders, I think 225 is getting close. If you can find 235/40, then maybe, but 235/45 will rub.
