ecu
alright now i know nothing about engines or anything, i have noticed that people swap there ecu's does this mean that there interchangable or do you need the ecu for the motor you have? if so is it as simple as just swaping the ecu or do you need to swap other things as well? if so what ecu would you recomend for a b16a6?
sorry if this is a stupid question but im trying to learn, im new to this and ill admit that im not very smart when it comes to these things but wish to learn and be able to do these things on my own

Alright, I'm going to answer your questions and after that I wouldn't read anymore cuz you might get flamed a little bit and from now on, use the search option before making a thread.
Certain ECU's are interchangable, it just depends on the application and usage. There are certain variables such as if it's obd0 (88-91) obd 1 (92-95) or obd 2 (96-current). In that case if you mix the obd of the car and the ecu then you'll need a conversion harness. It also depends on which engine you use (d series, b series, h series, etc...) Now, there is no such thing as a b16a6 engine. I'm not sure if you mean B16a or D16a6. The B16a is the DOHC (dual overhead cam) VTEC motor which comes in B16a1 (obd0) and B16a2 (obd 1/2). The D16a6 is the motor found in the 88-91 CRX si's and Civic Si's / Ex's. As for the best ecu to use for each I will start with the B16.
If you have an obd0 (1 wire o2 sensor 88-91) B16:
-PW0
-PW3
If you have an obd1 (4 wire o2 sensor 92-95) B16:
-P30 (stock ecu form b16 Del Sol)
-P72 (stock ecu from GSR but will run a little rich)
-P28 CHIPPED (stock ecu from obd 1 civic si's and d series del sols)
I'm not sure on the ECU codes for the obd2 B16 but can be found with a search.
Now for the d16a6
-PM6 (stock ecu from crx si, civic si, and civic ex)
-PR4 (stock ecu from ls/rs/gs Acura integra)
-PM7 (stock ecu from ZC civic/crx - JDM)
sorry if this is a stupid question but im trying to learn, im new to this and ill admit that im not very smart when it comes to these things but wish to learn and be able to do these things on my own</TD></TR></TABLE>

alright yea sorry i did mean d16a6... a little dislexic... sometimes get me d's and b's mixed up lol so of those 3 you listed for the d16a6 which one would you consider to be the best. or maybe i should ask what differance does it make?
i dont care about flaming, im trying to learn, you have to give me credit for at least trying. all these people had to ask or get told by someone everything they know, its not like people are born with this knoledge.

Exactly...
Anyways, the PM7 will probably be your best bet because it has the most aggressive fuel/timing curves, then the PR4, then the PM6

alright thank you ill have to keep an eye out for a pm7 ecu, thanks for your help. any suggestions on where i can find these? only places i know are to search on ebay and the clasified ads on this cite.
PM7 may be a little harder to find - it is the JDM DOHC ZC OBD0 ECU - PG7 from 88-89 USDM Integra is a little easier to find - same thing as PM7 but doesn't have speed limiter
alright so where would i be able to find a pg7 ecu, also is that direct fit for mine without any modifacation?
alright so i found 2 pg7 ecu's on e-bay now i just need to know if these are direct universal to mine or do i need something more?

make sure it is 88-89 (not 86-87) and that it is for manual transmission car (if yours is manual)

Yep.
Yep.
yea junk yard around here only honda's im going to find are civics and accord, not likely for me to find an integra, so ill look on ebay, there not to expensive anyway from what i see on ebay
alright so i found an 88 integra in a junk yard, now im not sure if i just cant find it or if it was already yanked out... but i could not find the ecu, where is it located at?
Hey dude, it should be located in the passenger side floor board behind the carpet. It should either be mounted behind a gold kick plate (that you'll have to remove to get it out) or on the side wall under the dash.
