Engine building question
Hey all, I still haven't yet bought my B-series swap (go single-cam!), but I'm still brainstorming. Tell me what you think of this idea: get a B16 swap, then bore it out and put in CRV-sized pistons. It would all be built internals (forged everything), but could someone tell me what I would get? Someone told me that bore=horsepower, and stroke=torque. I know its an over-generalization, but still...I don't really care much about daily drivability. It would be a nice bonus, but max power is what matters to me. I would also consider stroking the engine, but wouldn't that limit the revving potential? By the way, this is an all-motor brainstorm, so factor in a crazy (13:1 or 14:1) CR, with a pretty high redline, all to be swapped in my EJ1 95 Civic EX coupe.
Thanks guys

well first of all you cant bore a b16 block out enough (without resleeving of course) to put in crv pistons. you can resleeve and stroke b16 no problem but for what your gonna pay just in parts its not worth it at all. stroking a b16 wont limit revabilty unless you use anything bigger than a gsr crank. 13 and higher compression ratio is not such a wise choice for a street car unless you would like to rebuild your motor every couple months anything under 12.5 is cool for street, the rings just cant take the abuse for a very long time. if i were you i wouldnt waste money on a b16 block if you want all out power. basically your wallet will determine how much hp youll get unless you cut corners and build a **** shingle motor of course. if you really want a good motor start off with a type r motor and build that. a well built typer motor in a nice an lite *** car is in my opinion the best all motor route to go.
