would a BAD map sensor ALWAYS throw a cel?
i feel like a broken record now because its been months since my car has been screwed.
but i'm having jerking/driveability problems. which btw fix after i quickly(in neutral rolling) restart for like a few minutes at least... and for some odd reason on colder days it takes longer to mess up and last longer between restarts before it messes up once again. once it begins to go it goes from the engine missing stumbling to full blown jerkiness undriveability in like 30 seconds to a minute...at which point you can restart and it will allow you maybe a couple minutes again before the process repeats.. but those 2 or so minutes it does give me the car runs great, sound great runs smooth, car has around 200k(120mi) on it so its not like its beyond its life expectancy. this is what leads me to believe its gotta be something like and electric sensor thats screwing me over.
parts i have changed: known good distributor with low miles(which i actually dont mind having a spare one, good insurace i think), new cap/rotor, wires, sparkplugs, fuel filter, ecm, o2 sensor, fuel pump(not related to this). the reason i bought some of these things like ecmis because of a misdiagnostics by a crappy mechanic, same guy who also decided to block my egr with a plate without telling me.
also unplugged and drove with tps sensor disconnected and still happened. the only thing i can think which could possibly be it is the damn map sensor...but no cel either.

I was having similar problems for about a month. I'd just be driving and all of a sudden it feels like you hit a wall, also real bad jerking when accelerating and I tried everything to fix it and then one day I went to start my car, my cel came on code 3 which was the map sensor. Replaced it and my car has been running like a champ. Anyways just try replacing it with a known good one or buy a new one (you might as well you replaced everything else).
