what clutch? how to install clutch?
After looking over all these sites, I see no 99' Civic Si stage 2-3 clutch, now I have been seeing the civic delsol 1.6L dohc vtec, can I just get one of those?, also what stage should I get, sooner or later I hope to buy a 200+ horse turbo kit, no nitrous. And one last thing, where can I find instructions on how to install a new clutch, I got time, plenty of it.. and I just got a ton of cash from insurance, so I can get the tools I'll need.. When I buy a clutch will it come with directions like the other stuff I've bought? Now I'm not a motor-head, I dont know everything about cars, but I'd still like to do this myself, I'm a DYI kinda guy..however, I leave the turbo to the pros..
I think I would rather put in a turbo than a clutch. The main problem with putting in a clutch is that you have to unbolt almost every mount to drop the tranny, and the axles have to come out also. So your engine has to be supported somehow. Also, torquing the flywheel and pressure plate bolts is very important. It's not something for the novice to attempt, Air tools are a big help, a friend who has done it before is a bigger help.
good point B. if you are some what mechanically inclined then i say do it yourself. but if you dont have the proper tools then forget about it. the job is fairly easy and str8 foward.
go to c-speedracing.com......they have instuctions. it is for a b18c but it gives you the basic idea. (i used it for guidence when i installed my clutch in my d16).
good luck

I was speaking from SOHC experience, buddy. No mid-shaft, i didn't bother to check if he had listed what car he was doing it on.
I did an ACT puk 6 in my civic. It was really easy. I already had the tranny dropped though. Also it was a 92, so SOHC. It only took like 2 hours from getting clutch out of box to putting last mount bolt in. My dad helped with the aligning though, he is better at cars than me.
i'd say go for it, you can always have somone help you out if you think you have gotten yourself in to deep.

How do you figure both axles and ever mount has to come out, its 2 mounts you have to un-bolt and 1 axle.
You do have to pull both half-shafts and remove the transmission. Air tools are not a necessity. I've done it with hand tools and it's not that bad at all.
As far as "stage 1" and "stage 2" goes, it sounds like you play GT3 a lot. Find a clutch maker you like and find out what clutches they make for your car. Chances are, there'll be a full-face, a six puck and/or a three puck. Go with the full-face. Your options are ACT, Exedy, Toda, HC Racing, etc. Go to Options Auto web site and see what they have.
If you have a ton of money to spend and you like working on your car, definitely make this your first purchase:
A Helms Manual.
It will explain to you step-by-step how to do anything to your car from changing a clutch to changing your springs/shocks to pulling your head to you name it. Buy it.
