Default fair price to lower an accord?

i wanted my local mechanic, to install set of springs and shocks on my 94 accord 4 dr, what would be a fair price?

he is a very good mechanic, but it is not a performance shop, he said it would be cheaper to do it at a performance shop, but i rather get it done from him as he does all my work, i am in northern VA

thank you

You can usually find someone to do it for around $50-60 bucks.

Try a small speed shop during the mid-week during the day when they're slow.
Like on a taco tuesday.

You can do it yourself for free -- just let the air out of your tires. [/rimshot] Thanks everybody, I'll be here all week. Be sure to tip your waitresses, they are working hard for you!

Seriously, if they just want $180 and you really want it lowered, I'd just go with that.

180 is a fair price, 3 hours at 60 an hour. Honda wanted to charge me between 400-460, depending on who I got on the phone.

Find someone locally thats willing to do it for you? NOt a shop but a person with skills? But yea those prices do seem kinda high and if you want to drop it that bad I guess you can go with the 180 as people are saying.
