h23 header on an h22...
I could have swore I heard somewhere that you sould use an h23 header/downpipe (oem) on an h22 with some slight modifications.. Can anyone confirm this? I bought a DC header and it's leaking really REALLY bad and they need me to send it in and i have nothing but an oem h22 header and an oem h23 header/downpipe and CANNOT deal with not having my cra for an undertirmined amount of time. i'd guess 3 days for them to get it if i paid out the *** for shipping, they'd waste a week of time, look at it, and maybe give me a new one and not rush deliver it... I juts need to know if this can work so i can keep my car on the road or i'm probably cutting this $250 piece of crap in half and welding on my own new flexpipe...
F22B and H23 headers are the same, as well as the F20B and H22, but, you won't be able to use the H23 headers on your H22...at least to my knowledge. I also have never tried to make them work, I'm sure with some effort, you can get anythign to work..depends on how much effort you can put forth
There is absolutely no question that it will not fit. I've matched them up, the 2nd and 3rd cylinders dont line up, they don't really even come close... H23 looks like this.... 0 0 0 0. H22 looks like this.... 0 00 0.

you can't use h23 header (top half) on h22 head.
you can use a h23 downpipe on h22 (top half) header if you redrill the bolt holes (that's what i have now so i know it works).

^yeah you probably mistaken with what yonkinator had done
i think he was the one who posted pics of the dremeling of the notches to make the bottom part fit the h22 top
the main reason this is a big thing is because jdm h22 swaps usually come with the top part but not the bottom....so its nicer to just mate it to the bottom of a part you already have instead of going out and buying a new header

well, I don't have to worry about it anymore.. My tranny blew apart about 45 minutes after i first posted this so I am without a car for a while anyways. I'm going to buy a jeep for now and pas sit along to my girlfriend later. I'll probably be running that for a while 'casue not only did the tranny blow, my exhaust fell apart and my valve cover gasket is gone and one of the studs are broken... FU**... cars suck sometimes

yes the f22a1 Prelude S and the h23a1 prelude Si have the same header, just not the down pipe, h23's O2 sensor is down further. but it can still fit. (h23 and f22)
