Default header/downpipe issues

I am swapping from h23 to h22 and was wondering if i needed to use the h23 header if I was going to retain the h23 downpipe. if i recall there was differences in lengths of the h23 and h22 parts, but when put together they both were the same length... correct? thanks

H23 header (and intake manifold) have different bolt patterns than the H22. You will need to get the H22 header and downpipe. I was able to bolt up the aftermarket h22 header downpipe to the rest of the h23 stock exhaust, which I shortly had replaced with custom exhaust anyway.

Yes, I think your assumption is correct once put together the H22 header and downpipe will line up just about right where the H23 setup ended underneath.

You will want to get an H22 downpipe. You can try to make the H23 fit, but I haven't heard anyone do it successfully.

The 4th Gen H22 and H23 lengths are the same though.

neither.

H22 header + H22 downpipe = H23 header + H23 downpipe

kinda like 6+3 = 5+4

The end measurement is the same, but can't be interchanged as single parts.

Now I'm pretty sure the H23 and H22 downpipes are the same length.....I can't say for sure, but I think the guy I sold my old one to said the same. I think it's just the upper portion that's different.
