which tires, azenis or 712's?
i havent done much research on tires and i dont have much cash to buy s03's atm. i just need something cheap like the azenis or 712's. can anyone tell me which one u would prefer and why?
azenis....
bcz 712 just like the p7000. a friend of mine was using p7000 for his ride, then he got the same situation as u, dont have much cash, so he bought a set of 712.. he said same stuff as p7000

I have both, Azenis on my Miata and 712's on my ITR. Lets just say that I just ordered a set of Azensis for my ITR.
Dry Grip => Winner Falken
Rain Grip=> Winner Falken (not by much. Kumho's are great in rain)
Price => Tie
Ease of Purchase => Kumho (Falkens seem to be out of stock in lots of stores)
Longevity=> Kumho
I like the Falkens because they are very predictable. Throughout the whole turn they grip/slide at a very predicatable rate, so u know when they are about to break loose.

Seriously now...Rain grip goes to Falken?
I'll admit that I have never driven on either.
But you can bet your 455 that if I'm on the highway
going 90, I'll be on the 712's.
Could you explain the rain decision, was it in regards to autocrossing...or
street driving. I just find it soo hard to believe that the Kuhmo's tread
pattern would not evacuate water from underneath the tire much better?
But, I've never owned either. I roll S03's in the rain w/ no worry,
and less cash in the wallet

I honestly do not drive that fast in the rain. If there is a chance of hyrdoplanning I do not take it above 70mph. I just don't risk it.
I should classify what I mean by "rain". I do not mean downpours. I really mean wet roads that have some puddles, but not a fully soaked road.
So, if I was going to do 90mph in a downpour (never done it so I am guessing), I would choose the Kumho's over the Falkens. But on a wet road, without tons of water, I choose the Falken's.
Sorry for any confusion.
Just to clear things up. I think the Falken's are a better performance tire than the Kumho's.
