what size is this? -8 or -10?

yes i know its kinda difficult to tell from just a picture. but i really need to know. i need to order a part for my car while its still in the bodyshop. and obviously i cant go look for my self. try to look at it compared to the 10 mm bolts
look at the top fitting. not the one in the pan
also i would like confirmation. AN and flare is the same thing right?
It's hard to tell without any measurements. If you are able to remove the line, measure the ID and OD then get back to us.
And a -AN fitting is the same as a JIC 37 degree flared fitting.

thanks for the quick responce. i am unable to pull it off right now, because its at the body shop. the line i would guesstimate it to be about 3/8-1/2. also, if you compare the size to the 10mm bolts next to it it looks about the same, maybe just a little bigger
if im not mistaken most flare fittings are 45 degrees right? so it would give me the false hope of it working if i just screwed it on.

looks like a 3/8" brake/fuel line. There are no AN fittings in that photo. AN and flare fittings like that have nothing in common.
Pull that crap off and have a 1/2" NPT bung welded into your pan, then you can use whatever fitting you want.

this is what im getting. its gonna be steel 3/8'NPT with a male -10AN. the pan is tapped to 3/8' npt. it was the way vortech instructed me to make the oil drain. it was a huge plus to me, because i dont have a welder or a beater car.
will 3/8" npt be big enough? i would think so thats what they gave me in the kit.

Try your local auto parts store... they usually carry these fittings. If not, try http://www.summitracing.com or Stan out at Fast-Turbo.
