Renting a tow vehicle for ITR Expo?
I don't feel too good about driving my car 14 hours to the expo, driving it on track for the first time since the engine rebuild, and then driving it back. I know certain rental places (Enterprise) rent trucks. But does anyone know if your allowed to tow with these trucks? Or does anyone know a place I can rent a truck?
I really don't want to rent a moving van from Uhaul with a tow dolly. I guess that would give me a place to sleep but the gas milage would be killer.

i rented a ranger (hitch already on) from Enterprise and towed my car with it. also rented a 2-wheel dolly from uhaul. this was one-way btw.

i was looking to do the same thing for expo, i got a quote of approx. $800 Cdn, not includin the gas for the truck, but that does include like $0.45 per km, alot of insurance for the truck and open trailer, and and some other crap too added to that.. so screw that, im drivin it down!
IIRC Enterprise rents Trailblazers, and all TB's AFAIK come with the class 3 hitch & 7 pin wiring assembly stock. Although I've never rented one like this I've seen several other members post this in the RRAX forum. Also if you're renting the truck you may need a ball/hitch for the reciever and or the 7 to 4 pin adapter for lights. If you need to purchase this stuff, get it from Wallmart, it's much cheaper than RapeUhaul.
Then you're lookin for a trailer though and really the only one I know of is Uhaul. If you want a brief list of my experiences with Uhauls and my using my wifes Trailblazer to to my R all around look here: https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=1630928
Ask me whatever you like.

U Haul left me & my ex up **** creek on the morning I was supposed to help her move out of state. She reserved a truck online 2 months in advance, and on the day of the reservation told her "sorry, we have no truck for you or 4 other people that made reservations." I would stay away from them IMO.

I have at least the ball part left over from my Xterra if you want it.
(Sorry to whoever I accidently ripped off by forgetting to include it in the sale)

Thanks for the thought though!
I considered towing my car to the last expo, using a yukon and renting a trailer/dolly was going to cost a fortune for gas and tolls across the country, both ways. Make sure you calculate the actual gas mileage prices for the trip, and truck/dolly rental, tax ect. It's not a cheap trip, you may want to consider upping your AAA towing to gold, and hoping for the best..
I had to have my car towed 600 miles from expo 4, not fun
