Default Few questions about water mist injection on FI cars

I have heard that if a car is tuned with water mist injection and water runs out, then the car goes dangerously lean. But I was thinking..... If the water mist cools the intake temps and this will cause the air to become more dense. Therefore with more air, it should lean out with the water mist. Which way is it?

My car is tuned on sonoco ultra 94 and i want to put the water mist injection. These are my questions:

1) Would I have to get the car re-tuned meaning a richer fuel mixture to compensate for the water mist leaning out, or would i get more power and be safer just by adding thw water mist?

2) how should I hook it up. have it start spraying when it sees 10psi or have it start spraying by a switch.

ALSO, what if question 1 and 2 was about alcohol injection?

Yes it would have to be re-tuned. Water/Alcohol injection essentially allows two things.
One the need to retard the timing so much goes away causing less heat build-up
Two you can run higher boost pressures because there is not as much heat, meaning pre-detonation becomes less likely.

Unfortunately if you run out of the mixture you will blow up the engine, because the heat will come back.

That is why it is not usually something people do for their street car.

so with my car being tuned on sonoco 94 octane and just adding the water (not alcohol) injection, my car wont lean out?
