Default I Need Basemap Help - 2.5 Bar Install OBD0 - Never Tuned Before

Im very very new to tuning

I went to a tuner a week ago and tried to tune my car on a 3 bar but it just wouldnt work, car wont idle, car wont run, but it did boost ******* great

So I bought a 2.5bar kit from xenocron, comes already solderred with a red/white/black wire which I will try and figure out myself

What I need to know is what kind of basemap do I need, theres all this ng60, ng48 etc etc

Ive never tuned a car nor really read anything about it but I cant go without a car for a few more days so I just want to get it running

My car is an 88 Crx si, d16a6 running turboedit on a chipped pm6, 450cc injectors, forged internals and a delta 272 cam and some nice head work with a t3 .60/.63 turbo and 3" downpipe

Can someone help me out as to what i need to do to get this into my car (I have a moates burn1 here and a zif socket in my ecu)

Thanks

Do you have access to a laptop & datalogging?

I would try to stay away from ready made basemaps. I would start with a stock map and try modifying from there (if you are able to)
If you are unable to I would definately disconnect a charge pipe until you can. You don't want to ruin a good setup trying to force it down the road on a bad tune

No laptop and no datalogging but I do have a permanent dgital display wideband in the car

I had the car running mint on a stock map sensor with a basemap, then we tried a 3bar and got the boost PERFECT but it wont idle, wont partial throttle

So I bought a gm 2.5 bar and thought Id try it myself

I cant figure out this moates burn1 just yet though

I think im gonna use splittimes bin if I can ever figure this dam burner out

Im very very new to tuning let just say that, these are the first 10 maps Ive burned
I went to a tuner a week ago and tried to tune my car on a 3 bar but it just wouldnt work, car wont idle, car wont run, but it did boost ******* great

So I bought a 2.5bar kit from xenocron, comes already solderred with a red/white/black wire which I will try and figure out myself (done now)

I then picked up the ng60_splittime basemap off of xeno's website and tried it out, the idle was hunting everywhere from 500-1200, a/f from 14.1-15 but the motor was shaking pretty good, vacuum was dippin around and well it just ran like ***

I richened it up by 15% to 12.5:1 and the idle seemed to stay more in one spot, but still hunted around, rocking the motor and the vacuum stil took dips form its normal -17 into the -10 area

Then I tried to take away 15% and the a/f went to 18:1 and the motor didnt like it and it keeled over.

I figured I better make a post

The car is an 88 Crx si, obd0 with a d16a6 engine vitara pistons and eagle rods, built head, delta 272 cam. T3 .60/.63 turbo and a 3" open downpipe. The ecu is a pm6 and the injectors are dsm 450's

Can anyone help me get this idle sorted out? Once I get this and sorta understand it I might be able to fix my axle problem, then i can deal with partial throttle tuning

ps-its cold as fawk outside @1am

Thanks guys

Wow, yeah be real careful. There are a lot of precautions making a map and if you don't know what you are doing, you can blow it up real quick. First thing you need is a solid idle. Don't mess with any other parts of the map until the car idles correctly. Once you have all your sensors scaled properly it will be much easier to do the rest. And don't be playing around in boost on a bad tune, the end can come really quick. My advice, ditch the chips for something with realtime capabilities. We haven't done a chip in years. All our turbo cars run either a standalone or a good additional injector controller. Then you don't have to deal with making it run (since honda got that right a LONG time ago) you only have to deal with fuel and ignition under boost.

http://media.putfile.com/hosting25baridle

Heres a vid of my car idling right now as it stands. Its a freshly built d16a6, vitara pistons on eagles and a built head (milled.040). Im running turboedit and to run high boost I swapped in a 2.5bar map sensor from xenocron. Im running a 3" open downpipe thats why the exhaust soudns rather loud

Now I have no idea where to start when it comes to tuning, just trying to figure this out but I cant get the car to idle, cant figure out how to make a basemap with a 2.5map sensor so I grabbed a splitime bin from xeno's site and this is what its running in the vid, maybe because its for a z6 and im running an a6?

I need to know how to get this thing running right, I dont think there is a single vac line I havent checked for leaks, map sensor is wired right, I just dunno whats up

Hopeing for some advise

in the program did you set the map for 2.5 and the injectors for 450cc..??? dont just use some random bin from a website,,you never know....

you still didnt answer my question...your tuner coudnt tune it??

and did you try and make your own basemap...?? did you try this .? http://xenocron.com/te.php?page=basemap

basemaps usually (from what I've seen) won't work as anticipated.

Have you tried tuning with your stock 1 bar?

No I didnt tuen with my 1 bar, no fun, i want 15 lbs

I did run a basemap on the 1 bar to get to a car meet 2 hours away, car ran pretty dam nice, steady idle, low 12 a/f's

I just switched back to a 3bar, still idles like **** but I know the boost map and partial throttle is pretty much done
