Default Just figured out my car has been in an accident

Yeah...

I went to find this infernal leak that I thought was the rear windsheild washer nozzle today, so I removed my interior. Previously, I had replaced the nozzle and sealed it up with liquid gasket, but it still leaked. When I removed my drivers side rear interior piece, I saw what I hoped I wouldnt; a reproduction body pannel. It is black, I have a white CRX. I thought things were funny, the rear brake lights wernt paralel to the body. The doors were slightly sagging. I ignored the painted bondo on the rear hatch area (what is leaking, I think), but now I put it all together. I'm kinda stunned, do you guys think its worth it to keep it? Or should I buy another and swap out all the parts?

Depends on how much it's worth too you. Do you have a donor car lined up yet? Got another ride to work? Your lookin' at a little down time on the Rex. Or,at least, a Saturday's worth of work.

I could use one of my parents cars, but what would take a saturday to fix? The leak? I dont have much done to the chassis itself, just a new brake booster. The rest has been put into the engine\drivetrain, which i could swap over. I dont know... I mean, its been a good car, but all my work has gone into the engine swap. I guess I could let the chassis go. But I could also just use it for a daily driver as well.

Seconded. Once a car's been crashed it'll never be the same again. Especially if it's as bad as you say it is (doors sagging, repro body panel, leaks, etc.). Unless you're under severe financial constraints I'd rather just pick up a straight, cheap shell and swap everything over. Then maybe use the crashed car as a daily. Then again, I'm talking out of my ***...I have no money, I'm a student.

I'm going off to college in the fall. I have the money for a cheap shell (graduation money and such). I should have carfaxed this ****.

Anybody have an unlimited carfax account? I'd like to confirm my findings.

The ripley areas are where, guess, bondo was painted on but not sanded. Its not even a good bondo job.

I'd keep it. If it's not rusting and in good shape, I wouldn't worry about it. I'd take a clean rex, accident or not, anyday.

True. Unless it effects my alignment I've decided I dont care. Its no show car, but it is fun to drive and will autocross just fine.

I think that's actually body glue, comes that way from Honda.

My carfax says I have frame damage . But it got hit in 02 it says and I think they considered a bent rad support frame damage. Got it aligned and all angles came out fine and it drives straight, plus I can't really see anywhere where the frame would have been repaired so it could be worse.

Anyway I say keep it.
