Alright... 97 civic with jdm gsr motor (i know this is civic forum, but i need all the input i can get)

im driving on freeway...go in vtec...going about a buck...heading onto the offramp...downshifting and then my car just turns off. I start the car thinking its no big deal...i noticed a change in sound of the car and it sounded like ****...at the next stop light my car turns off again so this is when i realized i had a problem...im driving home and the performance has gone to ****. i try to see if vtec works and as soon as i hit 5500 my car makes all these loud noises. i pull over and open up the hood and theirs this loud knocking noise on the right side of my engine..comes and goes...even at idle... the car was constantly turning off...and at idle the bar is jumping from 1-1000 rpms until it finally shuts down.the car does drive at really slow speeds when on but as soon as you start slowing down it shuts down.

all comments and thoughts appreciated...thank you.

 

also...just checked under car and theirs some oil dripping...their wasnt any before this incident.

also...when revved even slightly the car sounds like ****...sounds like a lawnmower.
