well basics would be a header, intake and exhuast, little stuff you could get is better spark plugs, ingition wires, but after that stuff its usually a turbo set up

suspension upgrades go a long way for an accord

You're not going to receive or notice big gains with a header/intake/exhaust setup without going the extra step into making sure it's tuned probably. It seems like you're going for more show then go

Reason why i say this is because everyone who's been into racing knows that the intake system doesn't just stop at replacing the tube and filter (which im guessing thats all you did) It goes WAY beyond that. To allow the Intake to work properly and at its fullest, you'd have to allow the air passing threw the filter to flow evenly into the manifold also. So getting a ported Thottlebody should be your next step, and not an exhaust system quite yet

Also note: The factory intake system is not as bad as many think it is...if you look at the design, its basically a cold air intake system with a smaller tube The FILTER is where the difference is Some would suggest K&N Filters

Search more about your vehicle and you'll learn ALOT of info here

Just replacing the Throttlebody isn't going to be a done deal either...again you'd have to get it port matched to your intake manifold.

Another issue at hand is whether or not you're going to be boosting or staying N/A

If you're going for boost (turbo) you're probably better off saving all your $$$ for a nice turbo setup. Theres alot of fellow HT members who've pulled some nice HP gains from simply and cheap setups.

if you're trying to stay cheap for now you could always get an EX exhuast, i got one, the diff between your lx and my ex is that the ex came with a 4-2 flow and the lx came with a 4-2-1. this is why some cars have dual tips and others only one pipe, it i think thats one of the major thigns that makes an ex faster actually, itd be cheap at a junkyard

The EX has two pipes coming from the same muffler... so... no, it's not 4-2, it's 4-2-1 with two tips out the exhaust.

MAINTNENCE!!!
Before you even think about doing any kind of modification you need to go over the engine with a fine tooth comb and look for fluid leaks, broken/ worn parts, and give it a GOOD cleaning and fix every thing you find that's wrong.
THEN you can do the fun stuff.

If I find out you put a cold air intake on there and have a leaking distributor o-ring I will be forced to remove you from the geene pool.

Do you know if the timing belt has been changed? This is very important, because you don't want it breaking on you. How many miles on it?

and about the EX exhuast, yes i stand corrected it is 4-2-1, my bad

pretty much intake, header, exhaust is all you can really do at this point. someone stated earlier above that your not going to get any gains without PnP throttle body and manifold and a tune, but i think thats excessive, especially for you. just amke sure your car is healthy, do the basic bolt ons. there really isnt much potential in our accord's F series unless you turbo it, but for now the next ebst thing u can do for power is nitrous. i really suggest you look into suspension+tires+wheels. our motors dont have much power potential without boost so your next ebst thing is to make it handle ...hope this helps you

i believe the DX/LX share the same exhaust pattern 4-1 whereas the EX/SE share the 4-2-1 design.

as far as handling it really depends what are your goals and how much you want to spend. but make sure you dont go cheap on tires, and light weight rims r a plus. as far as suspension goes like i said, it depends on your budget and goals

Check out the guide to basic Accords (in the sticky thread at the top of Accord page). Try not to go overboard with the aftermarket stuff. The EX does have a slightly better exhaust. Happy Hondaing

Find a 1g DSM setup and that should go into your motor just fine for boost. Needs some modifying though. But if your not experienced with boost id suggest you do the rest what the people mentioned.

Run a chipped P06. That will give you some tuning options or you can change to a PT6 ECU which would be the EX ECU. You could also do the dual runner IM upgrade with it.

Here is a link for some springs I was thinking about but I am not getting.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors...%3AIT

They would go great with some new struts. I recommend the KYB AGX adjustable struts for not a bad price.

arm_can is a store on ebay that sells kits for upper control arms, outer tie rod ends, lower ball joints and sway arm bushings for around 125.00.

That would link up your front suspension pretty good and a better ride.
Also look into upper strut bar and lower bars. They help a little with flex. Try to get a one piece if you can. They are more stable then adjustables.
