I have yet to ride one of these 4stroke bikes. Last time I rode a 4stroke was when I was learning how to ride on a xr80. Since then, I'm now riding a 02 CR250 and a 03 ktm125. Love the midrange power on the CR, but I'm definately curious about what the new bikes have to offer now.

Yes. It's sick, smooth power and just a kick *** bike. However, the 450 ******* owns the 250 in every way.

except for being 125 class compatible
...
In my opinion, i like the 05 better than the 06... none of the carb issues, and the dual exhaust was just stupid.... no need for it. just an attention *****-ish add on..
Either way, ive been out of the mx game for a couple years, and for the past year i have been a vendor/mechanic for a local race team, and have always been watching the sidelines. Last weekend i decided id race the next race, and borrowed a friends 05 crf250.... good bike. turns well, and the power is oh so smooth compared to 125s. Im a 2-stroke guy, so its hard for me to liike a 4 stroke. only complaint i had was that if u were to chop the throttle too hard coming into a corner, itd stall and down id go. thankfully the hot start works excellant. Stock suspension left something to be desired...
Ill let ya know after my first race on it.

yea see ive only ridden 2 stroke dirt bikes love the screaming power, dont know about the 4 stroke never driven one but very tempted. I hear nothing but good from the crf250, now to that one guy who said the 450 own's i dont think im big enough, i only way like 130 and like 5'8 idk though. So now the question is whether i want to go for 2 stroke or 4
i've ridden one, my dad has one, and i have a yz250f, the yz pulls so much harder than the crf. the crf does feel pretty lightweight, i've always been a yamaha guy so i like the feel of the yz a lot more. both are great bikes though. power and delivery is the biggest difference.
i live on like a mountian and if you look 360 degrees all you see is apple orchards and fields. I want to start going to the track. my freinds are members at the local tracks and you can go there and ride when its closed from racing. But in like a year i will be moving to florida to go to MMI and i will be riding down there. Probally mostly sand dunes and tracks.
have you ridden one of each before? personally i like the four strokes better, the power is more usable. i'd say ride a four stroke and a two stroke and compare their characteristics. the two stroke powerband is annoying unless you just ride track or dunes.
