Default which tranny for turbo civic?

hey guys i had a question i tryed searching but couldnt find? I have an 00 civic ex auto tranny im running turbo and im going to do a manual swap i've heard thedx hydro tranny is the best one is it true? I was also wondeirng if any1 is so cal knows how to do it and how much they would charge to do the swap thanx guys

thanx, i just heard the dx tranny was the best one cause it had the longest gears.... any1 in So Cal. know how to do the swap?

^ thanx for clearfing i appreciate it... i found a dx tranny with 60k miles on it for 100 bucks its a friend of a friend u think i should pick it up for go with a 92-95 si or something differect

Get the cheapest one and it'll do. You can swap out final drive ratios etc later on.

That long gears crap is just that. If you know how to size a turbo to a motor, there is no reason for any of that "it stays in gear and in boost longer" BS.

EX or SI is the way to go as all of these guys before me have stated.

The gearing in the si and the ex are identical. There is absolutly no difference between them.

well just to let you guys know i just picked up the tranny for $85 it was a friend of a friend so i trust him it was out of a 00 dx 4dr no grinds either.... now on with the rest of the parts if u guys have any for sale that i could use for the swap let me know prices.. and if any1 in so cal can help with the swap let me know thanx all for the help i appreciate it

shorter gears=quicker acceleration...if you spin tires...get better ones.

The shorter the gears, the faster you accelerate. Get the ex tranny.

96-00 EX tranny FTW


DX tranny isn't that bad, it is long but not as bad as the cx, vx or hf
