Default well, almost thought about buying an rsxs...but

I've decided that i want a type r for sure, but need to find one at a dealer so i can get financed. I would like to buy an r from a honda tech memeber, but i know i would have trouble getting the loan.

Last year i tried to get the RSX S and was approved after several talks with the manager, so i know i can afford, or approved for the r. (since it is around the same price as the s) I've done several searches on auto trader and come up with a few. But, they are rather far away. What do you guys think i should do?

Oh, and the dealers i've called have sold the r's within a few days of me calling or they are asking to have 5k down to test drive...(no acura places)

sorry for the long post

haha, i know, but right now there aren't any other car that i could get at a dealer that i would want. and if i cant get an r i would only think (key word think) about getting the s. I love my vtec lude and dont think i could part with it. Some i'm just going to keep saving my down payment up until i can get the r at a dealer and without trading in my car.

The RSX-S is a good car, but if you're set on an ITR, then make sure you can afford insurrance before you go looking for one.

Think about what you're buying the car for.
I don't know about your area. I can't drive an R to anywhere I want, malls, theaters, bars, clubs, friend's driveway. etc.... It just can't be unattended. Think about if you want to go through that. I am fine because I have 2 other cars for daily driving, which is the RSX-S and the camry.
If you are ready for that or if your car is for racing, go for it.

RSX-S as a beater

edit: just make sure you beat the hell out of it, mis-shifts, 8k drops, etc.

i'm with a credit union, havent tried them yet...but when i tried at my last bank, i couldnt get the loan. I've been told that you can get loans easier at credit unions...but i don't need to have my credit run to kill it any more. (need to build credit first, no credit=bad credit to banks)

Why not just wait a bit and see if this rsx-r thing is going to solidify? Shouldnt be more than 5-6 months before we hear something from Honda (this is strictly speculation and should not be quoted). I had my mind set on buying an R and actually almost did before I realized that I was paying 22k for it and the rsx-r, assuming it will come to the states, will be roughly 2k more. Definitely more car for little extra money in my opinion.

Believe me, I know how hard it is to resist purchasing a current R. I'm telling you, I had the loan and a seller ready to go and decided that waiting would be the best thing. Hey, worst case senario would be that the that the rsx-r does not come to the states, in which case I will have to "settle" for the Lancer Evo VII coming out in January.
