Check engine light problem
I am throwing a CEL right now and im thinking its knock sensor but when i jump the service connector and turn the key to on like aldata say but when i do this the check engine goes away and i am unable to read the flashes.

The whole CEL goes away? No flashes? Kind of strange... make sure you have a good connection with the pins. If all else fails take it to AutoZone and use their OBDII reader.

Can a obdII reader read obdI codes? And where do they hook up the computer to? Cause last time i went there the guy showed me some huge plug and we had no idea where to put it.
