So, you cut the megaphone off the header, and now you're going to replace it with a collector?

Those headers are designed that way for a reason.

Maybe it's that way to produce a lower-pressure zone further back.

Areas of high pressure naturally flow to areas of lower pressure to equal themselves out.

Just a guess?

yeah but the thing is the only way for me to turn it back to street is connect a flange and a straight 2 1/2 inch pipe. will this affect performance?

good idea?? no ****....who would think to call the manufacturer of the header with a question about it.....

if youre gonna make your own pipe you need to have it expand from 2.25 to 2.5

the question is, is it best to connect a spring flange with a 2 1/4 inlet and on the other side 2 1/2 inch and connect a 2 1/2 inch pipe to it. or do i have to make a pipe that is 2 1/4 and expands to 2 1/2.

i course i already did. he must be busy because he hasn't been on HT. i plan to get my piping and exhaust done tomorrow which is why i made this post to get some opinions. it seemed to me that it wouldve been a straight answer from someone who has experience with headers. if anything i'll just give randy a call tomorrow morning. thanks anyway.
