Default self rev

hey, i cleaned my iacv today and it ran great afterwards, i just took it out around the block tho and when i put it in park it started to rev itself like it used to, could i not have cleaned it enough? i had to use a screw driver to chisel the buildup out of the two pipes on each side so i thought it would have fixed it... didnt tho, my tach still sits at 1.6 when it isnt reving itself. Any ideas?

also, if i need a new iacv, can i use the one out of my 91 DX?

since you cleaned verything, take some soapy water and spray all of your vaccum lines to see if you can find a leak......

i had a simliar problem on my 92 accord. only it would drop to 200rpms and then go up to 800rpms and just go up and down when it was in neutral. cleaned the iavc and it stopped doing that only now it would stay at 1800 rmps at all times when in neutral. so what i did was if you notice in your engine compartment there is a thing which if you apply pressure on(pull to the left), the engine will rev (sorry don't know what it's called), that has a cable which it pulls on when you rev it, in the middle of that cable there are some bolts/nuts with some other thing, loosen those bolts a bit until it lowers itself to 1000rpms which is where i think your car is supposed to be at. first loosen the one on the right and then tighten the one on the left so that it stays firm, that fixed my problem i don't know if your car is the same though, but it's worth a try.

i wonder that makes any sense ....probably not
