Default H22A EG doesnt start when its cold?!?!

Hey All,

I have a H22A into an EG4 and it has recently developed some issues. In the morning, when it is cold or when i leave the car for several hours, the car will start but then turn off within a few seconds. If I give it gas, it cuts out as soon as i push the accelerator. It seems to be short of fuel when it cuts out. The car does the cold start high idle ok too. After several attempts at starting, it will start again without any hiccups. No CEL's at all.

I have tried replacing the fuel pump, throttle body (MAP, TPS, fast idle valve) without any luck. Checked all vacuum hoses, even blocked off everything from the intake manifold that was not needed. It did not develop these problems until months after the conversion.

FYI: car is running on Hondata, so no EGR, knock, etc although there are all wired up.

The weather doesnt get really cold down here either, only about 5 deg celsius in the mornings.

Help

if it were a bad IAT the car wouldn't be participating in any thing other than, not really running at all, nery rough revvin action that really didin't go over 3k.

Are you sure your type of injectors are the type that is compatiable w/ your ecu/car?
Has the car driven, smooth ever?

yeah, it was running great during the first month after the swap and even better in an accord. Injectors are stock H22 with resistor box attached.

It has only recently developed this problem and only during cold starts in the morning or when it has been sitting for a while.

I have also tried starting with a stock P72 ecu and it has the same start probs.

i would say have your injectors tested or try new ones (but don't pay for new ones til you know for sure). it sounds like a fuel problem.

Have you changed the fuel filter?

Yeah, the fuel filter is new.

As for injectors, it idles really well once its running and doesnt hesitate/stutter/bog/stall after these initial cold start probs.

Could the fuel pressure regulator (FPR) play a role in cold starts?
