was just wandering if anyone could explain the how to identify a automatic b16 in comparison to a reg. b16. Mines doesnt seem to perfom as it should and im starting to think it might be an automatic one. can anyone tell by looking??

no difference except the tranny and ecu. well maybe the cams but im not sure.

 

didn't you say in another post that the motor had a flex plate? If it did then it's gotta be an auto B16a!

 

If your motor really is an automatic, just get rid of the cams, they are about 20% smaller than manual cams.

 

you will also need some new valve springs

 

does any one have the acutual specs of the automatic b16a and the manual b16a. Or is this here say about the cams being smaller and things like that.

 

cams are def smaller...you can tell if yours is an auto because the auto has a vacume line going to the tranny that the manaul doest.
