Default 2000 Civic Ex Coupe, gas pedal seems sticky

Hey there. I drove a 2000 civic ex beacuse im looking to pick one up. My friends 97 does this too. The gas pedal seems sticky. Its not real smooth pushing it in. Other than that the car drives great, and runs strong. Has anyone else experienced this? Any solution to this problem.

Most likely, your throttle cable is snagging on something. Unhook it and trace it back.

I don't actually own the car. It was just a test drive.

The throttle plate might be sticking closed. Spray some fuel injection cleaner down the tb and see if you can clean it out. (if that's the problem) You can tell by manually moving the throttle wheel and seeing if that's what sticks.

true dat, but use fuel injection cleaner, the carb cleaner usually says on it in big red letters "NOT FOR FUEL INJECTED CARS" - even though ur not spraying it into the fuel delivery system..iono, that sticker always made me weary :-P

Use the fuel injection system cleaner, that says on it, safe for fuel injection systems,

Anyway, it's not abnormal, my car had it and so did my mom's.
