Default '93 accord, need new muffler to pass inspection

after my car sat for 8 months, i came home from school and got it re-registered/insured. I brought it to pepboys, and they called me up yesterday saying i have a crack in my muffler and need it to be replaced. So I paid 75$ for the inspection, and now they tell me in order to get the sticker the muffler needs to be replaced, which they are going to charge me 175 for the parts and 60 for installation.

If I do it on my own, i have to pay the 75 dollars for the first inspection, then get the parts and fix it and then bring it back and have it reinspected and pay another 75 dollars.

so can I do this by myself in a cheaper way? I have another form of transportation right now, so it doesn't have to be fixed in the immediate future if i can do it on my own, but i have to give pepboys an answer tomorrow whether or not they should fix it.

I looked it the part up on hondaautomotiveparts.com and it is 119 for the muffler plus 5 for the gasket. I am mechanically inclined so I shoulder be able to do this. If anyone has any cheaper options I am not opposed to any aftermarket exhaust options such as magnaflow mufflers, which i was also considering.

input is appreciated, btw i live near west chester if anyone has any good recommendations of shops.

Do not, And I repeat, Do not believe any thing Pepboys tell you They are lowly paid hacks trying to sell you something you don't need! Have your car looked at by a Honda professional (Does'nt have to be a dealer). They will tell you what you need.
