Default Headers for B16 with GSR head on 96 EK

Hey Guys,

Just need some confirmation, searches didn't help much.

Currently I have a 96 Civic HB CX running SiR (American Si) midpipe, spoon n1 axleback exhaust, going to swap a B16A1 block with a GSR head.

My question is, when I'm looking for headers, in this case DC sports, am I looking for the headers to fit my EK, fit the GSR head, or fit the B16 block? I am sure I'm looking for a GSR head fit since thats where it bolts up, but how would the bolt up be from the exhaust flange to the test pipe on my mid pipe?

Any insight would be greatly appreciated, you guys rock!

Hey sunnydeez,

Yea i posted in the All Motor section too, and skoundralUSA posted a nice reply:

<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by SkoundrelUSA &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">ok, for the head, All B-series headers will match up to the head.

as for the block, if you're definitly sticking with the B16 block, get a header for the B16. But if you ever decide to get a GSR block, the B16 won't clear the oil pan very well. Another thing to consider is what cat/test pipe piping size you're running now. If its 2.25" get a header for the B16/GSR (aka "US spec"). If you're doing a 2.5" piping, get a header for a Type R/GSR (aka "JDM spec") because they have 2.5" collectors</TD></TR></TABLE>

So it looks like I'm going to stick with a B16/GSR header since I'm running a 2.25" test/mid pipe.

Thanks again you guys!
