Default heres some pics of my lude........any tips on cleaning her up???

my lude looks really nice on the outside, but the engine bay is really rusted and so is the underbody........what can I do to clean up the rust?........and does an aftermarket header go through that braided pipe and all the way to the cat?

PB blaster is awesome with taking out rust

it just depends on how deep the rust goes. Looks like there are a couple spots where you may be in some trouble.

the cruise control?

that looks ok. Take some PB blaster to that and let it soak for a little bit. Then take a bristle pad and scrub it down, then clean it off with a wet rag.

have fun with that. You cant ever tell the true extent of rust damage until you actually get in there and try to take it out.

how northern ohio?
i'm in cincyso probably a lot more than me but o well
the header goes to the cat. new ones come with both pieces and will probably help
mine had some bad noise from my cat until i replace it with a straight through cat
and the blaster is the best thing to use for stuck bolts. just don't get it on anything rubber or polyurethane.
if you do clean it off quick

I was told the blaster will work to get rust off of anything metal, not just to undo bolts......but will it help undo rusted bolts when lowering the car?

No, rust has to be sanded off or you can use Scotch-brite or steel wool to get it off. I paint military vehicles and parts every single day and those things are always rusted to ****. We use $125/gallon rust preventative primer & paint and we still have to sand it off first.

So get you some fine sandpaper, steel wool or Scotch-brite pads and sand it off.

the first thing i would do is bring it to the car wash and pressure wash the engine bay with castrol syntech the BEST degreaser available.
